Worship
Worship at Grace is always centered on the gathering of the people of God around Word and Sacrament. As in most Lutheran congregations, it is also intensely musical, and broadly participatory. We have deep respect for traditional forms, as well as enthusiasm for the newest music and liturgies.
Grace celebrates communion every Sunday with bread made by our members, using a special recipe designed for our needs. We provide the option of wine through the common cup or individual cup as well as grape juice. We also have gluten-free hosts; simply notify the pastor before or at communion.
We welcome the important part children have in our Sunday worship. The noise and commotion they bring is music to our ears, as is their unique vision of worship. Children are invited to dance and play designated instruments and other worship elements in the front and around the table to express their joy in music and dance during the sending hymn.
“Busy” bags are available on a stand near the sanctuary doors, and children are welcome to select one to bring with them into worship.
If parents are concerned about their children’s commotion, they may accompany them to the Cry Room adjoining the worship space. It includes things for the children to do while everyone can still see and hear worship. If you decide to leave, however; please bring your children back with you for Holy Communion. They can receive a blessing or communion, whatever you have decided as a family.
